Job summary

An engineering construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include preparing Bills of Quantities, managing contracts, and overseeing subcontractor work progress. This position offers opportunities for advancement to Senior Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Contract Manager for candidates with substantial experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum diploma or degree holder in Building / Quantity Surveying / Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Construction sector.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings and specifications.
  • Source subcontractors and suppliers, manage quantity measurement.
  • Negotiate, administer, and monitor contracts.
  • Track changes in design/construction work relative to budget.
  • Prepare tender documents and evaluate costs before awarding contracts.
  • Follow up on invoice preparation and sub-contract agreements.

Job description

Experience required;

  • Take-off quantities, prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ, drawings and specifications for the calling of quotations).
  • Source for sub-contractors and suppliers, quantity measurement, costing and estimation for both pre-contract and post contract.
  • Pre and post tender/contract negotiation, administration, and monitoring.
  • Track changes to the Design/ Construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Price and forecast the cost of different materials required for the project.
  • Procurement responsibilities including tender document preparation, calling for quotation for sub-contract works, evaluate, and compare costs before awarding the works for sub-contract package.
  • Follow up on invoice preparation, purchase order, work order, sub-contract agreement and letter of award to sub-contractors and/or suppliers.
  • Monitor and evaluate work progress and assess sub-contractor’s progress payment claims and variation order claims before certification. This will include contract administration for any variation or change for both Sub-contracts and Main Contracts.
  • To follow up on monthly progress claims in a timely manner.
  • Involved in respective site, client, and consultant meetings, Liaise closely with project sites for related claims.
  • Minimum diploma or degree holder in Building / Quantity Surveying / Civil / Structural Engineering
  • At least 5 year(s) of relevant working experience in Construction sector
