As a Senior/Quality Control Analyst in Scent & Care Division, you will be responsible for conducting routine physical, chemical and sensory analyses to ensure that raw materials and finished products meet defined quality standards, specifications and customer requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support timely material approvals and ensure seamless product release within QC lead times. This role requires strong technical capabilities in operating lab equipment as well as maintaining accurate documentation and quality records. You will play a key role in identifying root causes of quality deviations and customer complaints, raising non-conformances and supporting corrective and preventive actions. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on lab efficiency, safety and compliance while supporting business continuity by stepping into critical tasks as needed including during supervisor absences.
The Position:
- Conduct routine physical, chemical, sensory and other required analyses.
- Operate laboratory equipment such as GC-FID, GC/MS, titrators etc., perform basic preventive maintenance, equipment and verification/calibration and analytical method verification.
- Manage accurate data entry and documentation to ensure full traceability and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Perform risk assessments and make informed decisions regarding the approval/rejection of raw materials and finished products based on the test results against the set specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensure timely testing and release of raw materials and finished products within QC lead times while supporting business-critical priorities as needed.
- Make informed decisions regarding material rework based on historical trends and in consultation with senior team members.
- Raise non-conformances for quality deviations in raw materials and finished goods and follow up to ensure proper closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Initiate investigations into customer complaints in coordination with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Collect comprehensive evidence and key data to support investigations. Apply sound reasoning to propose potential root causes for customer complaints and internal rejections.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s quality standards in alignment with customer contracts and agreements.
- Develop and maintain quality specifications and standards for raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
- Keep quality control programs, policies, process flows, procedures and work instructions up to date and align with operational needs.
- Identify and implement workflow optimizations to enhance productivity, sustainability and laboratory safety.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with key stakeholders to prevent delays.
- Provide cross-functional support to other QC teams as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Step in to manage critical tasks in the supervisor’s absence to ensure business continuity.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Chemistry, Flavors/Fragrance, Food Science or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates with Diploma and at least 7 years of relevant experience are welcomed to apply.
- Strong understanding of fragrance, flavor and/or aroma ingredients.
- Good knowledge of chemistry, particularly relevant to the flavor and fragrance applications.
- Essential exposure to sensory analysis and good sensory skills, especially in odor profile evaluation.
- Basic knowledge of production processes in fragrance, flavor or chemical manufacturing.
- Experience with SAP.
- Hands‑on experience with laboratory instruments such as GC, GC/MS, HPLC is an added advantage.
- Proficient in writing clear and concise technical reports and communications.
- Knowledge of Lab Safety Protocols and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
