A leading tech company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Software Tester to create test plans and conduct both manual and automated tests on software applications. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in software testing for web-based applications, proficiency in various programming languages, and familiarity with CI/CD and performance testing tools. Job description

Responsibilities

• Create test plans and test reports for functional and/or performance tests.


• Create test cases based on user stories or functional specifications.


• Conduct manual and automated testing (if applicable) on software applications.


• Conduct performance testing to ensure that the delivered system meets the performance requirement.


• Identify, track and retest bugs.


• Report testing progress to the project stakeholders.


• Provide support for User Acceptance Test.


• Work closely with the project team to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives, and to ensure that bugs reported are fixed within the timeline.

Prerequisites

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or its equivalent.


• Must have at least three years of software testing experience in web-based applications.


• Good oral and written communication skills.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


• Experience with CI/CD tools (i.e. Gitlab or Jenkins).


• Experience with open-source automated testing frameworks (i.e. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium or Cucumber).


• Experience with API testing as well as integration testing with external systems.


• Experience with open-source performance testing tools (i.e. JMeter, K6, Gatling or Locust).


• Proficiency in programming languages (i.e. Python, Java or JavaScript).


• Working experience in an Agile environment will be an added advantage.


• Basic understanding of SQL.


• To drive and advocate continuous improvement in testing practices and tools.


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Certification for software testing (i.e. CTFL, CTAL, CSTE, CSTP or CSQA) will be an added advantage.
