The Senior Public Relations and Communications Executive plays a key role in strengthening the company’s reputation, credibility, and visibility within the financial services industry.

The role involves developing and executing communication strategies that promote trust, transparency, and brand confidence among clients, investors, regulators, and the public.

This individual will help manage media engagement, corporate messaging, and thought leadership initiatives that position the organization as a responsible and forward-thinking financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
Public Relations and Media Engagement
  • Develop and implement public relations plans to support business goals, product launches, and corporate initiatives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with financial journalists, business editors, and media partners.

  • Draft and distribute press releases, statements, and feature articles that reinforce the company’s brand reputation.

  • Coordinate media interviews, press briefings, and coverage opportunities for senior executives.

  • Track, analyze, and report on media coverage, providing insights and recommendations to management.

Corporate and Stakeholder Communications
  • Support the creation of speeches, executive messages, annual reports, and investor communications.

  • Ensure all communications comply with financial regulatory standards and align with corporate brand guidelines.

  • Draft and edit internal announcements and newsletters to drive employee engagement and alignment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, HR, compliance, and business units) to ensure consistent messaging.

Reputation and Crisis Management
  • Support the development of crisis communication plans and key messaging to protect the organization’s reputation.

  • Monitor public sentiment, competitor activity, and emerging issues within the financial landscape.

  • Assist in coordinating responses to sensitive issues or regulatory matters in collaboration with senior management.

Digital and Social Communications
  • Partner with digital teams to manage corporate social media channels and online reputation.

  • Create compliant, engaging content for financial audiences across digital platforms.

  • Track digital communication performance and recommend strategies to enhance engagement and visibility.

Events and Campaigns
  • Assist in organizing and promoting corporate events, investor briefings, and financial education campaigns.

  • Manage media participation and ensure effective post-event publicity.

  • Work with agencies and vendors to ensure brand consistency and quality execution.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, ideally within banking, insurance, investment, or fintech.

  • Strong knowledge of financial industry trends, regulatory requirements, and media practices.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex financial topics.

  • Proven experience managing media relationships and communication campaigns.

  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience with financial media, investor communications, or regulatory communications.

  • Proficiency in media monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision).
