Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will lead, manage, and oversee all fire protection construction projects from initiation to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with statutory requirements, and according to client expectations. The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge in fire protection systems and proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Planning
- Lead, plan, and manage full project lifecycle including design, installation, testing & commissioning of fire protection systems.
- Prepare project schedules, work plans, manpower allocation, and cost projections.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Technical & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with SCDF requirements, Singapore Standards (SS), NFPA codes, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Review technical drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and main contractors on all technical matters.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance on technical issues and resolve site challenges.
- Conduct regular project meetings and ensure effective communication within the project team.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare project budgets and monitor cost control measures.
- Evaluate variation orders, claims, and manage project financial performance.
- Ensure procurement of materials and equipment meets project specifications and timelines.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Establish strong relationships and manage expectations effectively.
- Attend coordination, technical, and site meetings.
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Implement and enforce QA/QC standards for all fire protection works.
- Ensure safety compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee testing & commissioning activities.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 8–10 years of project management experience in fire protection or M&E construction.
- Proven track record handling multiple large-scale projects in Singapore.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems (sprinkler, hose reel, hydrant, gas suppression, etc.).
- Familiar with SCDF submission processes, Fire Safety Act, and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings, AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
