Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore seeks an experienced Project Engineer to assist in managing contracts. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety standards and supervising site activities. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering and has a minimum of 5 years of experience in project environments, particularly in tunnel and viaduct construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project/construction environment.
• At least 2 years of tunnel and viaduct and/or flyover construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of the contract.
• Advise on site quality and safety issues.
• Supervise installation and monitoring of instrumentation.
• Lead a team of supervisors on site.

Job Description & Requirements

• Assist Principal Project Manager (PRPM)/ Senior Project Manager (SPM)/ Project Manager (PM) in day-to-day management of the contract
• Advise the PRPM/SPM/PM on site quality and safety issues.
• Determine any non-conformances on works
• Liaise with Contractor to rectify any non-conformances and document them properly
• Ensure that decisions on site issues are conveyed to the Contractor within a reasonable time frame.
• Ensure that works are carried out according to specifications, drawings and programme without compromising on quality and safety
• Provide feedback to the PRPM/SPM/PM on quality and safety matters and suggest quality improvement measures for implementation on site
• Supervise installation of instrumentation and monitoring of instrumentation
• Lead a team of supervisors to ensure full time supervision of works on site by supervisor /client

Job Requirement

• Minimum Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in project/construction environment
• Proficient in relevant software programmes for planning and project work
• Pro-active team player with good analytical and communication skills
• Required to have at least 2 years of tunnel and viaduct and/or flyover construction experience
