Job Responsibilities
- Conduct and review engineering calculations for equipment sizing, material selection, and system design.
- Lead the development of detailed design documents, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts.
- Oversee and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of gas, chemical, and water waste systems into overall project designs.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for gas and chemical systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to enhance safety and reliability.
- Evaluate new technologies and engineering solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality design and implementation.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication, ensuring successful project execution.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendors to assess equipment specifications, cost analysis, and supplier qualifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges, implementing best practices for system optimization.
- Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 6 – 10 years of experience in engineering roles related to gas, chemical, or water waste systems.
- Strong expertise in engineering calculations, equipment selection, and detailed design development.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM), risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other engineering design software is preferred.
