What the role is
MAS' Data Analytics & Engineering Division (DAE) is a specialised team within the Data Technology and Architecture (DTA) Department within the Technology Group (TG) in MAS.
DAE's primary purpose is to partner internal MAS functions to generate business value through the enablement of effective and efficient use of data driven insights for business value creation. This is achieved through effective strategies, strong in-house development capability, standardization of processes, tooling enablement, establishing a product development mindset, promoting knowledge sharing within MAS and complementary external collaborations.
What you will be working on
Day 2 Operations & Support
- Hands-on operational management of production systems, log analysis, and incident response while maintaining deep technical understanding of system components
- Oversee RCA for incidents and service degradations, identifying systemic issues and proposing cross-functional improvements beyond immediate scope
- Proactive system optimisation through continuous monitoring, identifying performance bottlenecks, and recommending architectural or process enhancements to prevent future issues
- Manage and troubleshoot technical components with sound judgment, escalating complex problems while suggesting preventive measures and long-term solutions
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs, incorporating lessons learnt and industry best practices to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage SLA/SLO compliance, performing regular logs/accounts reviews, and implementing corrective actions when thresholds are breached
- Identify operational gaps and collaborate with development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to remediate systemic inefficiencies
- Lead post-incident reviews and translate findings into actionable improvement initiatives across technology and process domains
Product Lifecycle & Development Management
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, from conceptualisation to launch and ongoing operational excellence, ensuring product relevance and value throughout its lifetime
- Manage product development using Agile methodologies, facilitating ceremonies, and analysing project metrics to ensure successful delivery
- Oversee project management activities, including risk assessment, resource allocation, and adherence to quality and security standards
- Balance feature development with operational stability, making informed trade-off decisions between new capabilities and system reliability
- Oversee ICT Governance audits and reviews to maintain adherence to best practices
What we are looking for
Essential Day 2 Operations & Support Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on Day 2 operations experience managing Data Science platforms, analytics infrastructure, or similar technology systems in production environments
- Proven track record of conducting RCA and implementing both immediate fixes and strategic improvements that extend beyond assigned scope
- Demonstrated ability to identify systemic issues during routine operations and proactively propose cross-functional solutions involving multiple teams or departments
- Experience in creating, executing, and evolving SOPs based on operational learnings, not just maintaining static procedures
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to dive deep into logs, metrics, and system behaviours to diagnose complex issues
- Experience managing SLA/SLO compliance, incident management, and translating operational metrics into improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to balance tactical operational execution with strategic thinking, suggesting improvements to architecture, processes, and tooling
- Experience with observability tools, monitoring platforms, and automation frameworks
Product Management & Technical Skills
- Experience in product management with understanding of full product lifecycle, particularly post-launch operational phases
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and project management principles, with emphasis on DevOps and SRE practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product features and operational requirements
- Strong understanding of ICT governance frameworks and best practices within financial services environment
Collaboration & Communication
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to advocate for operational improvements and influence decisions across various levels of the organisation
