Job summary

A leading food service company in Singapore is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to handle purchasing for its Central Kitchen. Responsibilities include negotiating prices, maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring product quality, and driving cost reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma, at least 3 years of experience in the F&B industry, and be proficient in Mandarin and English.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of food & non-food items for Central Kitchen
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers while driving cost reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Production and QA to ensure product quality is within specification.
  • Ensure product supply stability and availability.
  • Participate in vendor performance review.
  • Analyze inventory level and manage excess /obsolescence.
  • Generate purchase orders and maintain filing system in accordance with procedures & policies.
  • Conduct cost analysis and set up benchmarks for improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, highlighting operational, service and process gaps. Identify training needs.
  • To keep himself/ herself updated on market trends and practices.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties/ projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in relevant fields
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing experience in F&B industry
  • Is a good team player
  • Is meticulous, strong in process administration and has high integrity.
  • Has a creative flair with ability to think out of the box for problem solving skills
  • Committed to quality (including food safety and custom compliance) with strong customer focus.
  • Strong with interpersonal & communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Must be effectively bilingual, both spoken and written Mandarin and English
