A leading aviation company in Singapore seeks a Surface Finishing Engineer to optimize and lead processes in aerospace and semiconductor applications. Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and 5–8 years of relevant experience. This role offers a collaborative work environment and competitive compensation.
Lead the development and optimization of surface finishing processes (e.g., electroplating, anodizing, etching, passivation, cleaning, etc.)
Scale lab processes to production and troubleshoot process-related issues on the shop floor.
Analyze root causes of defects (e.g., poor adhesion, roughness, contamination) and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
Design and execute experiments (DOE, SPC, FMEA) to improve process capability and stability.
Collaborate with quality assurance to support audits and customer-specific requirements.
Document and maintain process control plans, work instructions, and operating procedures.
Drive cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives through process innovation and automation.
Provide technical support to internal teams and interface with customers as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and new technologies in surface finishing.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in surface finishing, preferably in aerospace and/or semiconductor industries.
Strong understanding of surface chemistry, electrochemistry, and materials interactions.
Hands-on experience with equipment used in plating, anodizing, or semiconductor surface treatments.
Familiar with quality systems: AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.
Experience with analytical tools: SEM, XRF, profilometers, contact angle measurement, etc.
Proficient in problem-solving tools.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations relevant to chemical processing.
