Job Description – Senior Piano Teacher

Deliver high-quality piano lessons to students of different ages and proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.Design and implement structured and individualized lesson plans based on students’ learning needs and goals.Prepare students for graded examinations, competitions, concerts, and school assessments.Demonstrate advanced piano techniques, musical interpretation, and performance skills.Monitor and evaluate students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.Maintain strong student retention through effective teaching and positive communication.Identify and nurture musically gifted students for advanced training and performance opportunities.Participate in curriculum development, teaching material improvement, and academic planning. Mentor and support Standard piano teachers when required.Assist in school events such as recitals, concerts, competitions, workshops, and masterclasses.Comply with the school’s policies, professional standards, and administrative requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery

    • Provide high-quality piano instruction to students of various ages and proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.

    • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ abilities and learning goals.

    • Prepare and guide students for music examinations, competitions, concerts, and internal assessments.

  2. Professional Demonstration and Artistic Guidance

    • Demonstrate advanced piano techniques and musical interpretation during lessons.

    • Cultivate students’ musicality, technical accuracy, stage presence, and stylistic.

  3. Student Development and Management

    • Monitor and evaluate students’ progress on a regular basis and provide feedback to parents and the school.

    • Maintain student retention and build positive teacher–student and parent–teacher relationships.

    • Identify and nurture students with strong potential for advanced musical development.

  4. Curriculum and Material Development

    • Participate in the development and refinement of course syllabi, teaching materials, and assessment standards.

    • Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of the school’s piano teaching system.

  5. Teacher Mentoring and Team Collaboration (if applicable)

    • Mentor and support standard piano teachers to enhance overall teaching quality.

    • Organise and participate in teacher training, teaching observations, and professional development activities.

  6. Performances and School Events

    • Assist in the planning and participation of school concerts, recitals, competitions, masterclasses, and public performances.

    • Represent the school in external artistic or educational events when required.

  7. Professional Conduct and Administrative Duties

    • Comply with the school’s policies, rules, and professional code of conduct.

    • Complete lesson records, student evaluations, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
