Job summary

Nanyang Technological University’s Cognitive Neuroimaging Centre (CoNiC) seeks a Research Fellow with hands-on neuroimaging expertise to design experiments, process images, and develop novel methodologies. The role spans NTU’s Experimental Medicine Building and Novena campus, contributing to multidisciplinary projects and user data analysis.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Cognitive Neuroscience, Life Sciences, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on neuroimaging research experience (MRI/EEG/fNIRS).
• Proven expertise in MRI postprocessing pipelines; experience with MEG/EEG/fNIRS is a plus.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python; familiarity with neuroimaging tools (SPM, CONN, BrainVoyager, EEGlab, NIRSlab).
• Experience with experiment design and stimulus presentation software (PsychoPy, E-Prime).
• Strong statistical and computational skills; ability to work independently and cross-disciplinarily.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to mentor students and collaborate with PI.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and conduct neuroimaging experiments using MRI, EEG, fNIRS and related modalities.
• Develop and optimise imaging protocols and tasks for fMRI studies.
• Perform image analysis and postprocessing with standard neuroimaging tools.
• Apply MATLAB/Python for data analysis and stimulus presentation.
• Conduct statistical analyses to support research findings and grant proposals.
• Mentor students and train staff in data acquisition and analysis techniques.
• Develop new methodologies and harmonise protocols across projects at CoNiC.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to technical documentation.
