Job summary

Aberdeen Corporate Services Limited in Singapore seeks a Senior Multi-Asset Trader to efficiently execute Equity, FX, Fixed Income and Emerging Market Debt across global markets, supporting Asia, EMEA and the Americas with best execution and market insight.

You will work from a centralised dealing desk, delivering liquidity intelligence, execution expertise and risk management while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven buy-side or sell-side trading experience across Equities, FX, Fixed Income and EMD.
• Strong understanding of market structure, liquidity dynamics and execution strategies across multiple asset classes.
• Ability to assess liquidity, market impact and execution risk across different asset classes.
• Hold the CMFAS examinations.

Responsibilities

• Execute Equity, FX, Fixed Income and EMD trades per PM instructions.
• Trade cash equities across Asian markets using electronic, algorithmic, block and voice trading channels as appropriate.
• Execute FX spot, forwards, NDFs and related transactions supporting investment and hedging activities.
• Execute developed markets, sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate emerging market debt transactions across both hard and local currency markets.
• Deliver efficient and accurate execution while maintaining a strong focus on client outcomes.
• Provide market colour, liquidity insight and execution recommendations across asset classes.
• Support investment teams in evaluating execution options and trading strategies.
• Maintain awareness of market structure developments, geopolitical events and regulatory changes impacting execution activity.
• Share relevant market intelligence, liquidity trends and counterparty observations with investment teams and colleagues.
• Coordinate closely with global dealing colleagues to ensure orderly handovers of trading activity.
• Assist in maintaining resilience across the global dealing model through broad asset class capability and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain strong working relationships with brokers, counterparties and trading venues across the region.
• Participate in broker reviews and provide qualitative feedback on counterparty performance and execution quality.
• Provide market colour, post trade feedback and execution insights to investment teams.
• Collaborate closely with operations, compliance and technology teams to ensure a seamless trade lifecycle.
• Ensure all trading activity complies with internal policies, regulatory requirements and market-specific rules.
• Adhere to trading limits, mandates and escalation procedures.
• Report risks, incidents, errors and control issues promptly and support their resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of execution control, transaction cost analysis and execution governance activities.
• Support initiatives to improve execution quality, efficiency and consistency across the dealing function.
• Contribute to technology enhancements, workflow optimisation and automation projects.

Job Description

The Senior Multi-Asset Trader is responsible for the efficient, accurate and compliant execution of Equity, Foreign Exchange (FX), Fixed income and Emerging Market Debt (EMD) across global markets. The role forms part of Aberdeen's global Investment Execution function and supports investment teams across Asia, EMEA and the Americas. As a member of Aberdeen's centralised dealing desk, the Multi-Asset Trader will act as a trusted execution partner to portfolio managers, delivering best execution outcomes while providing market insight, liquidity intelligence and execution expertise across multiple asset classes. The successful candidate will possess demonstrable experience executing Equity, Fixed Income, EMD and Foreign Exchange transactions and be capable of providing execution coverage across all asset classes, supporting business requirements. The role requires sound judgement across order strategy, liquidity assessment, execution timing and market impact management, together with strong execution discipline, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills. Working within a global follow-the-sun operating model, the successful candidate will support cross-regional coverage, contribute to desk resilience and ensure continuity of execution capability across Asia and London trading hours when required. The role requires the ability to operate confidently in fast-moving and often complex market conditions, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on client outcomes, regulatory compliance and best execution standards.

Key responsibilities

Multi-Asset Trade Execution

• Execute equity, FX, Fixed Income and EMD transactions in accordance with portfolio manager instructions, best execution obligations and regional market conventions.
• Execute cash equity trades across Asian markets using electronic, algorithmic, block and voice trading channels as appropriate.
• Execute FX spot, forwards, NDFs and related transactions supporting investment and hedging activities.
• Execute developed markets, sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate emerging market debt transactions across both hard and local currency markets.

Required Skills and Experience

Essential

• Proven buy-side or sell-side trading experience with demonstrable execution experience across Equities, FX, Fixed income and EMD.
• Strong understanding of market structure, liquidity dynamics and execution strategies across multiple asset classes.
• Ability to assess liquidity, market impact and execution risk across different asset classes.
• Hold the relevant CMFAS examinations.

Desirable/Advantageous

• Experience working within a centralised global dealing function.

• Knowledge of derivatives and their use within investment portfolios.
• Experience using Charles River, Bloomberg, liquidity and electronic trading venues.
