Senior Mechanical/Marine Systems Engineer (Offshore Equipment)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead design, integration, FAT/commissioning, and lifecycle support for offshore mechanical systems—Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), FPSO offloading systems, winches/hosereels, and Active Heave Compensation (AHC) cranes. You’ll work with our Singapore team and China manufacturing to deliver class-compliant equipment and yard/offshore executions across ASEAN.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering & integration of HPUs, hydraulic circuits, and control logic for offloading skids, reels, winches, and AHC crane subsystems.

- Prepare and review calculations, GA/assembly drawings, P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, BoMs, and FMEAs; ensure compliance to ABS/DNV/LR and project specs.

- Drive package engineering: technical clarifications, vendor datasheets, QAP/ITP, and 3rd-party inspection coordination.

- Plan and execute FAT/SAT, functional tests, flushing, pressure tests, and commissioning; produce procedures and test records.

- Support class dossiers (WPS/PQR, MTR 3.1/3.2, welding/NDE, coating, manuals) and client handover packs.

- Troubleshoot hydraulic/mechanical issues (pumps, manifolds, valves, accumulators, AHC control loops) on yard/offshore jobs; implement corrective actions.

- Interface with controls/automation team on PLC/HMI IO mapping for HPU and AHC systems; verify interlocks and safety functions.

- Provide technical leadership to junior engineers/drafters; contribute to design standards and continuous improvement.

- Support tenders: sizing, selections, technical write-ups, and costing for HPUs, offloading skids, hose reels, and cranes.

What you’ll bring (ideally)
- Background in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Marine Engineering (degree or diploma).

- Solid track record in offshore/marine equipment—especially HPU design/integration.

- Familiarity with FPSO offloading, hose reels/winches, and AHC crane mechanics (slew/boom/hoist, compensators).

- Comfortable with SolidWorks/Inventor/AutoCAD; exposure to FEA tools (ANSYS/Femap) is welcome.

- Strong grasp of hydraulics: pump sizing, heat load, filtration/cleanliness, accumulators, servo/proportional valves, reliability-focused design.

- Working knowledge of ABS/DNV/LR requirements, ATEX/IECEx selections, and core machinery safety concepts.

- Hands-on through yard, FAT/SAT, and commissioning; open to short yard/offshore trips when needed.

- Clear, practical documentation—procedures, test forms, manuals, and as-builts.

Bonus points
- Experience with AMC/active motion systems (e.g., AMC gangway).

- PLC/HMI interface know-how (Siemens/Rockwell/Beckhoff) for HPU/AHC packages.

- BOSIET/FOET + HUET and OGUK medical in place (or happy to obtain).

- Familiarity with API 17 / API 8C / ISO 4413 / NORSOK.

- Comfortable setting up FAT rig-ups, hydraulic flushing, and contamination control to ISO 4406.

Soft Skills
- Ownership mindset, hands-on problem solver, calm under pressure.

- Able to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, QC).

- Client-facing, good communicator for technical clarifications and punch-list closures.

What We Offer
- Impactful projects on FPSOs and offshore assets across the region.

- Opportunity to lead packages end-to-end (design → FAT → commissioning).

- AWS, performance bonus, medical coverage; training for class/standards.

Work Conditions
- Office + yard presence; short regional travel to client/yard sites.

- Occasional offshore/site work (allowances provided).

- BizSAFE & HSE-focused culture.
