Job summary

UES Holdings Pte Ltd seeks a capable Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee piping, valves and equipment layout for wastewater and water treatment projects. You will coordinate with the BIM team and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy and timely delivery.

You will review vendor proposals, support procurement and tendering activities, and help prepare submittals to consultants. A degree in mechanical engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design for process plants (water/wastewater treatment, incineration, etc.).
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical design for process plant projects, including piping, valve, and mechanical equipment calculations, specifications, data sheets, layouts, supports, platforms, and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with BIM modelling team and other disciplines for design, procurement, installation and testing & commissioning.
• Perform technical reviews of vendor proposals during procurement and detailed design, supporting cost estimation and tender work.
• Prepare mechanical submissions and resubmissions to project consultants and clients according to project schedules.
• Manage equipment, piping, valve suppliers/subcontractors to meet schedule and quality requirements for design, installation and testing & commissioning.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning work and other tasks assigned by management.

Job Description

• Oversee mechanical design for process plant (Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Treatment Plant, etc) including piping/valve/mechanical equipment calculation, specification & data sheet, piping/equipment layout, pipe/equipment support & platform, material take off, etc. Review the piping isometrics and as-built drawings.
• Provide mechanical input (such pipe loading, etc.) and coordinate with other disciplines (including the BIM modelling team) for the design, procurement, installation and T&C work.
• Technical review of equipment/piping/valve vendors’ proposal and submission during procurement, detailed design and installation stages, support the procurement and tender work, including the cost estimation.
• Prepare the mechanical submissions and resubmissions to project consultants and client according to project schedule and clear the submittal comments.
• Manage the equipment/piping/valve suppliers / subcontractors to meet the project schedule and quality requirements for design, installation and testing & commissioning.
• Support on the installation and testing and commissioning work, and other tasks assigned by the management.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design (such as piping design, etc.) in process plant (water/wastewater treatment plant, incineration plant, etc.) with Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects.
• Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
• Must have advanced computer literacy in commonly used software applications such as Navisworks, Bentley View, AutoCAD and MS Office.
