Job summary

A leading technology company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate on innovative designs for vision modules. You will be responsible for developing 3D models, conducting performance assessments, and supporting prototype testing. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, over 7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and proficiency in CAD software. Mandarin communication skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• More than 7 years of mechanical design experience in the semiconductor industry or similar field.
• Proficient in CAD software for designing components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of optical systems and vision technologies is a plus.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the requirements for the vision module and translate them into innovative mechanical designs
• Develop detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications for components and assemblies
• Conduct feasibility studies and performance assessments to optimize the design for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
• Perform structural analysis and simulations to ensure the design meets performance and reliability requirements
• Drive design reviews and coordinate with suppliers to procure components and materials
• Support prototype build and testing activities to validate the design and iterate on improvements as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
• More than 7 years of mechanical design experience in the semiconductor industry or similar field
• Proficiency in CAD software (such as Creo/ SolidWorks/ AutoCAD) in designing components and assemblies
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome challenges
• Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
• Knowledge of optical systems and vision technologies is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable to environments where Mandarin is the primary language used for communication with our China-based team, with access to online and integrated translation tools.
