Job summary

V.Ships Asia Group Pte. Ltd invites applications for a Chief Engineer to lead the Engine Department on vessels operating in Singapore waters and international routes.

You will ensure safe operation, maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary systems, and compliance with PMS and company policies. The role requires possession of a Singapore-flag Chief Engineer Certificate of Competence, STCW endorsements, and several years at sea, including LNG experience.

Qualifications

• Chief Engineer Certificate of Competence recognised by Singapore flag.
• Engine room Resource Management certificate.
• STCW Safety training required.
• STCW Proficiency in Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo Ops.
• STCW Proficiency in Basic Oil Tanker and Cargo Ops.
• STCW Proficiency in Advanced Gas tanker cargo.
• STCW Seafarers with Designated Security Duties.
• STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engine department, safety of crew, machinery and environment.
• Ensure adherence to PMS and company policies.
• Monitor fuel/oil consumption and bunkering procedures.
• Budget adherence and purchasing procedures.
• Provide coaching and training to engineers.
• Liaise with Ship Management Office and Master.
• Lead shipboard VMS management meetings.
• Maintain logs and records and report incidents.
