Senior Manufacturing Manager

The team manages media manufacturing operations, leads recovery and risk management initiatives, and fosters employee engagement to ensure high-quality, resilient, and efficient production at Seagate.

About the role - you will:

The Senior Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations across multiple production cells and facilities at Seagate’s Woodlands site. This position focuses on achieving operational excellence, maintaining compliance with labor and safety regulations, and executing strategic initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, expertise in lean manufacturing, and the ability to collaborate across functions to advance Seagate’s goal of maximizing the potential of data.

Operational Leadership
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations across designated cells (e.g., W2 Cell 5–8, W3 Cell A-C, MDW-HAS-Warehousing, Pack & Ops Support).
  • Manage equipment and product performance; tracking, reporting and driving to fulfil commitment.
Strategic Planning
  • Develop and execute long-term plans for equipment, workforce, and process improvements aligned with Seagate’s performance goals.
  • Lead lean transformation initiatives, Kaizen events, and productivity improvement programs to reduce waste and improve OEE and headcount optimization and efficiency.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to Seagate’s Labor Management System, including internal RBA audits, grievance mechanisms, and company cultures & values.
  • Conduct and support customer visits and audits.
Team Development
  • Mentor and develop supervisors and planners, oversee hiring and induction processes, and support performance reviews and bonus recommendations.
  • Conduct skip level meetings to address concerns and align priorities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with HR, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues and implement best practices.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Manage departmental budgets, track actual vs. planned headcount, and optimize resource allocation.
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of labor regulations, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data-driven decision-making.
Your experience includes:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
