Job description
Overview

The Technology Development & Commercialisation (TD&C) team is seeking a Senior Manager to focus on the commercialisation of new healthcare-related technologies developed under the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. You will work with the SingHealth clinical research community to identify and commercialise intellectual property arising from a diverse range of healthcare fields. You will also be involved in the management of a growing portfolio of patent and trademark applications and in promoting the awareness and benefits of healthcare innovation development.

Responsibilities
  • Review invention disclosure submissions and liaise with SingHealth Intellectual Property office.
  • Engage with external parties to increase awareness of institutional capabilities, research areas, and opportunities for collaborations and research partnerships; speak at internal workshops related to intellectual property, innovation, translational development, and commercialisation.
  • Support the IP office to identify and engage with potential licensees of the institution’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Work with stakeholders to draft and review intellectual property and commercialisation strategies of translational funding grant applications.
Job requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biomedical engineering or a relevant scientific/engineering field with at least eight years of relevant experience within the academic and/or industrial environment involving commercial partnerships; PhD in these fields preferred
  • Ability to work effectively and assertively influence key stakeholders, and build and support business relationships and partnerships.
  • Track record of successfully negotiating commercial contracts with industry partners
  • Ability to assimilate and grasp technical concepts and translate these into commercially viable proposals
  • Confident self-starter with initiative and capable of working successfully within a team and with key stakeholders in the ecosystem
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and administrative skills
