Job summary

DHL Express Singapore Pte. Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a large, multi-function unit in Singapore. You will be responsible for delivering SLA commitments, managing P&L, and driving improvements across processes and staff performance.

You will negotiate with vendors, build strong customer relationships, and ensure productivity through effective planning and use of technology. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in Operations Management overseeing multiple functions.
• Experience reading and managing Profit and Loss statements is advantageous.
• Ability to supervise more than 100 staff and manage relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of SLAs with customers in a fast growing sector per DSC standards.
• Accountable for unit profit & loss with high impact to the budget.
• Review monthly performance with site customers and drive operational excellence.
• Negotiate with suppliers/vendors/contractors for rates and services.
• Build strong customer relationships to retain and grow business.
• Review operational information and performance indices, including P&L.
• Manage daily operation planning to meet customer service levels.
• Conduct monthly staff meetings to address performance issues.
• Promote best practices across the country for productivity gains.
• Improve business processes to enhance productivity and service quality.
• Implement and utilize technology to improve service and productivity.
• Analyse and produce monthly P&L reporting.
• Develop a high-performance service culture within the team.

Responsibilities

• To ensure delivery of SLA's with customers in a fast growing sector, including managing/ implementing operations for existing and new customers in accordance with the DSC standards.
• Accountable for own unit profit & loss with high impact to the stakeholder financial budget set
• Review monthly operational performance with site customers and provide solution to drive for operational excellence
• Negotiate with Suppliers/ Vendors / Contractors for the Contractual rates and services & products
• Build a strong win-win customer relationship so as to ensure customer retention and development solution to growth existing business
• Frequently review, align and keep Superior updated information on operational issues and performances indices such as customer profile, Space Management, Resources management , Operating procedures and P&L status.
• Manage the planning process to ensure all daily operation activities are executed and meet according to the customer service levels
• Conduct monthly staff meeting to ensure operational performance and issued are resolved
• Actively promote the exchange and adoption of Best Practices within the country to leverage collective learning and to improve consistency and productivity
• Continually review and improve business processes to improve productivity and add value to DHL services
• Manage the effective implementation and use of the appropriate technology in all sections of the service chain, to enhance service and improve productivity
• Analyse and produce realistic monthly P&L reporting
• Develop a high performance service culture within the functional team. Plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective operation team

Requirements

• Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Operations Management, overseeing and controlling multiple functions
• Experience in reading and managing Profit and Loss statement would be advantageous.
• Must be highly motivated and able to supervise headcount of more than 100 and manage relationships with all levels of staff and customers
• Have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
