Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive legal counsel to manage the company's litigation and debt recovery initiatives, as well as to support the company's casino business. You will also support the legal team in reviewing and finalising contracts. The ideal candidate will preferably possess a strong background in litigation.



Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


Act as the company's trusted legal advisor and risk manager, overseeing legal matters related to debt recovery and litigation to ensure effective resolution of disputes and enforcement of the company's rights. Provide strategic and timely legal advice to various casino business units aligned with the company's objectives. Maintain a business‑partnering mindset that proactively seeks to identify and resolve issues.



Litigation:



  • Coordinate and manage external counsels to execute debt recovery actions, including but not limited to, issuing demand letters, negotiating settlements, and initiating legal action.

  • Maintain organised records of legal proceedings and recovery actions.

  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior management on the status of legal matters, debt recovery efforts, and litigation risks, enabling informed decision‑making and alignment with business objectives.



Compliance:



  • Ensure the company's operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Monitor updates and implement necessary changes to internal policies and procedures.



Contract review and risk management:



  • Support internal stakeholders on the review, drafting, and negotiations on a broad range of contracts, such as vendor engagements and other commercial activities.

  • Offer hands‑on practical guidance on legal and commercial affairs with the ability to identify and analyse issues with clear recommendations.

  • Advise internal stakeholders of contractual rights, obligations and interpretation of terms.



Stakeholder engagement:



  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align business objectives with legal requirements.

  • Conduct training sessions on legal compliance.



Job Requirements


  • Law degree or J.D. from a reputable university and admitted to the Singapore Bar

  • 4-7 years' PQE, preferably with litigation and/or in‑house experience. Candidates with litigation experience with a reputable law firm and/or with in‑house experience will stand an advantage.



Required Skills


  • Confident and clear communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, including senior management.

  • Experience partnering with fast‑paced internal teams and supporting business objectives.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple time‑sensitive projects simultaneously.

  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and detail‑oriented individual with a strong sense of initiative and a \"can‑do\" attitude.
