Senior Manager, Global Facilities Central Engineering, Electrical & I&C

As Senior Manager of Global Facilities Central Engineering, Electrical and I&C, you will lead a multi‑discipline engineering team that provides system ownership and technical support across semiconductor manufacturing sites in the U.S. and Asia, supporting projects and sustaining activities from design through operations.

Responsibilities

Lead and Manage Multi‑Discipline Engineering Team

  • Provide expert understanding of Semiconductor Facilities, Electrical and I&C System Engineering technical domain for Engineering, Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance.
  • Technically lead the Engineering team focused on strategic and operational excellence.
  • Build a skilled, strategic Engineering team, including recruitment, training, staffing and retention.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team member career paths.
  • Drive team engagement, inspiring and motivating the team to achieve goals.
  • Provide leadership on Global Facilities initiatives, delivering transparency and line of sight for the Engineering team.
  • Assist the Director in building a coordinated strategic plan, driving innovation and ground‑breaking initiatives.
  • Support network effort to implement, monitor and drive continuous improvement for success of Micron’s strategic programs and initiatives.
  • Identify, manage and monitor key performance indicators for the department; set Facility Engineering goals based on Global Network priorities.
  • Provide technical advice and support to overcome challenges in project planning and execution.

Lead Multi‑Discipline Engineering for Large‑scale Greenfield FAB Design and Construction Projects in U.S. and Asia

  • Supervise discipline‑related activities for planning, execution and completion of U.S. and Asia Greenfield FAB projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the entire project team including Global and Regional Facilities, Site Facilities, Construction, Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Layout and Planning, and other internal and external partners.
  • Establish and maintain best‑in‑class Engineering and Construction practices, focusing on innovation, efficiency and sustainability.
  • Drive Engineering and Construction cost management initiatives and ensure financial accountability.
  • Ensure project scope, schedule and cost meet customer, requestor and project needs.
  • Ensure appropriate communication and collaboration with Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and Manufacturing partners.
  • Perform timely review of design packages, providing documented comments and feedback.
  • Ensure designs comply with all standards, codes and regulations.
  • Supervise progress and provide Engineering and Design support during construction projects.
  • Provide support for project cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval.
  • Supervise and coordinate consultant resources.

Collaborate with Stakeholders, Partners, and Global Network Sites on Multi‑Discipline Related Topics

  • Initiate and sustain effective communication with team members, partners and collaborators.
  • Share updates to the Director, Engineering Leadership Teams and Engineering Teams.
  • Advance issues, offering options and recommendations for resolution.
  • Communicate strategic department goals, project execution plans, programs and initiatives, and targets.
  • Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions.

Provide Technical Support, Leadership and Expertise

  • Lead the Engineering team to provide consultation and support to Global, Regional and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams as the Technical Field Domain Expert.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including Technology Development Team, Procurement, Finance, Legal, etc.
  • Analyze system designs to identify improvements that result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance and cost savings.
  • Support sites with technical problem analysis and problem solving using standard tools and methodologies as requested.
  • Benchmark within and outside Micron sites on Engineering Best Practices and Best Known Methods of Facilities buildings and systems.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in Industry Standards, Best Practices, Trends, Technological Advances, Emerging Technology Roadmap, Design Innovations, Sustainability, Digitalization, and related areas.

Provide Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership and Expertise

  • Support Global, Regional and Site Design and Construction project teams in Engineering and Design development for Greenfield FAB projects.
  • Review and provide feedback on Micron Global Design and Construction Standards and Construction Specifications, focusing on Engineering Design and Construction of your systems.
  • Review and provide feedback on system design concepts for your field systems to be deployed into Design and Construction Projects.
  • Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends across the network and validate utilization and diversity factor assumptions.
  • Lead capacity and scenario planning across the network, evaluating system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes.
  • Review and advise on scope, schedule and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modifications.

Provide Global Initiatives Program Support, Leadership and Expertise

  • Support, review and provide feedback on Micron Global Best Known Methods documents, with emphasis on Operations and Maintenance Reliability and Performance.
  • Support review and feedback of Global Facilities Programs & Initiatives, including implementation and execution.
  • Support the Global Facilities Sustainability Programs in line with Micron’s Corporate Sustainability goals and initiatives.
  • Support review and feedback on Lessons Learned from Micron Global, Regional and Site teams for incorporation into Global Standards and BKMs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 15 to 20years of experience in Semiconductor and/or Facilities related industry with technical expertise in Facilities and Semiconductor Mechanical, Process, Electrical, and I&C Systems.
  • Ability to build and lead teams, develop people, and focus the team on meeting strategic objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Good organizational skills and a service‑demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good team‑working skills.
  • Self‑motivated worker.
  • Ability to travel 50‑60% of the time or more to Micron network sites and FAB construction project locations, including during critical project phases or site activities.
