Job description
Overview

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, to be based in Singapore, to own our key strategic relationships related to our banking infrastructure across APAC.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, ‘out of the box’ thinker, who has worked in the payments and/or financial services industry. Experience building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions in APAC whilst working at a payment institution/EMI is essential for this role. You must have a strong network of banking partners, card schemes, and payment networks to help Airwallex scale.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead, develop, and implement a banking partnerships strategy for APAC that supports our vision for Airwallex’s global collections and payouts network.
  • Manage our most strategic partnership opportunities, both existing and new, and act as the main point of contact between Airwallex and our partners.
  • Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape to ensure that Airwallex maintains its position as a payment leader.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banking partners, acquirers, and payment methods as Airwallex expands to new geographies.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes with prospective partners and project manage onboarding with new partners.
  • Develop yourself as an industry thought leader.
Who you are
  • You’re an exceptional communicator – you’re able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively.
  • You thrive under pressure – and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment.
  • You have strong negotiation skills – to navigate complex commercial discussions to ensure the best outcome for Airwallex.
  • You’re a team player - work cohesively with colleagues from across the organization and be able to inspire a shared vision.
What you'll need
  • 7+ years of experience working with financial institutions, card schemes, and payment networks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional banks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships.
  • A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
