Job summary

A leading financial services company in Singapore seeks an experienced Finance Manager to lead Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Control, and Tax functions. The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of experience in financial accounting or auditing, with a preference for insurance and Big 4 backgrounds. Responsibilities include managing daily finances, compliance oversight, and strategic financial planning.

In this position you will…

lead and manage the Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Control, and Tax functions for Device Protection (Bolt One) and Insurance Exchange (Bolt Choice) businesses in Singapore. You will work closely with a diverse team of finance professionals across Asia. By mentoring and developing the team, implementing systems and process, and by building key relationships, you will help to build a best-in-class finance function.

You will be responsible for…

Finance Operations
  • Managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounts department for both bolttech Broker and bolttech Agency business entities
  • Ensuring that accounts are prepared in compliance with accounting standards
  • Providing guidance and support to the team members
  • Reviewing journals and payments done by the team
  • Reviewing GST reporting done by the team and ensure submission to IRAS before deadline
  • Preparation and timely reporting of financial results and reports to management every month
  • Preparation and timely reporting of sales premium results to management & Senior Manager every month
  • Assisting and coordinating any banking matters.
  • Cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity.
  • Ensuring timely quarterly and yearly reporting to MAS.
  • Monthly checks on emails in MASnet.
  • Keeping management posted on relevant announcements and emails from MAS.
  • Monitoring credit control and highlight any issues during monthly credit control meeting.
  • Working closely with the accounts and operation team in improving systems, processes and internal controls.
  • Highlighting financial related issues to top management
  • Preparing annual budget vs actual report.
  • Reviewing and ensure asset listing are up to date
  • Liaising with vendors on system related issues
  • Liaising with tax agents, auditors, corporate secretary to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and all matters relating to the Company.
Strategy
  • Business Strategy: Partnering with the business to identify and refine the Finance organisation's business strategy.
  • Organisation Design: Continuously reassessing the current state Finance organisation and skillsets, and identify and implement future state structure based on business partner needs.
  • Innovation and Option Value: Identifying opportunities for innovation and increasing Bolttech’s value proposition within Finance.
  • Process Convergence and Automation: Identifying and implementing best-in-class processes and execute a plan for increased automation
  • Location Strategy: Further identifying and driving opportunities to maximise the utilisation of our Global Business Services (GBS) model
  • Strategic Initiatives: Providing leadership and oversight on regional strategic programs and initiatives.
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Presenting financial and operational analysis to provide visibility on performance or support future business decisions internally
  • Generating and maintaining budget, forecasting and actual data for the country
  • Providing high-quality support to the management as well as other functional teams during preparation for Business Reviews and Forecasts and other ad-hoc meetings.
  • Providing insightful analysis on the financials and suggesting implications on business performance
  • Developing financial reports for business stakeholders and group reporting.
  • Providing financial guidance and support to businesses to understand profitability, what are the gaps in achievement of KPIs, and mitigating plans.
  • Performing Risk and Ops assessment in collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure that financial implications from both sides is tracked and monitored.
  • Supporting the business in implementing processes which are tax compliant and efficient
  • Overseeing the cash funding process and intercompany support
  • Maintaining relationship with external supports, Advisors and Auditors
Finance Controllership
  • Monitoring the monthly and annual closing process to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results.
  • Monitoring deliverables from outsourced GBS partner on financial transaction processing and support.
  • Understanding the accounting policies underlying management results and budgeting principles.
  • Advising business on new policy update and their impact on accounting treatment.
  • Providing guidance on system and process for financial and operational planning, forecasting.
  • Team with Internal Tax to provide business with solutions on complex organization and operation issues as well as compliance with country jurisdictions.
  • Responding to stakeholders on ad-hoc requests on finance and operation related matters.

You will require the following qualifications and skills

  • At least 10-12 years of experience in financial accounting, auditing, corporate strategy, or financial consulting with 5 years in an MNC or financial services organization
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, execution, project management and leadership skills coupled with good financial acumen
  • Insurance industry and Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
