The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic candidate to advance health promotion through the translation of research to practice. The job holder will play an important role in charting the next generation of health promotion by distilling learnings and insights from cutting-edge research, rich data, and novel technologies for delivery in nation-scale population platforms.
Job Responsibilities

The job holder will work in a cross-functional, matrix team and contribute to high-impact projects in priority growth areas by:

  • Generating actionable insights through advanced analytics performed on diverse data gathered from large longitudinal cohorts, continuous sensors, and combined datasets

  • Setting up behavioural experiments and taking the lead in study design and data analysis to distil research insights and evaluate suitability for translation into programme delivery

  • Developing compelling data-driven narratives for impactful storytelling to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Overseeing and managing collaborations and consultancy projects with academic/ industry partners to deliver strategic outcomes and facilitate capacity building and collaborative learning

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • Degree in statistics, data analytics, social sciences, life sciences, public health, or any related quantitative discipline

  • At least 5 years of practical experience working with big data as a data/research analyst

  • Expertise in statistical techniques of multivariate modelling and advanced analytics (e.g., machine learning, k-means clusters)

  • Mastery in at least 1 programming language (e.g., R, Python). Familiarity with Databricks, SparkR or PySpark would be advantageous.

  • Additional familiarity with statistical softwares (e.g., SPSS, STATA) will be a bonus.

  • Familiarity with quasi-experimental setups and programme evaluation methods preferred

  • Strong communication skills, especially in communicating technical findings to a non-technical audience

  • Strong project management skills

  • Comfortable working independently and in a team

  • Strong sense of intellectual curiosity to learn and seek continuous improvement

  • Adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritise among competing demands in a fast-paced environment
