Senior Manager / Associate Director (Hostel Admission Services)

The Section Head of Hostel Admission Services (HAS) leads day‑to‑day operations of the Section, manages a team to deliver quality and efficient hostel admission services, oversees processes and policies, and provides data‑driven reports to support senior management decision‑making. The Section Head works closely with NUS partners and external stakeholders to ensure that student housing needs are met effectively and strategically.

Responsibilities
  • Administration – Oversee the full spectrum of hostel admission operations, including processing applications during housing exercises, review and refine housing schemes, coordinate with NUS partners, provide advisory inputs, support University‑wide initiatives, implement the annual workplan, and deliver timely reports.
  • Communications and Publicity – Manage correspondences and communications with stakeholders, oversee periodic updates of content hosted on website and application portal, conduct housing briefings to prospective students, and prepare the allocation quota annually.
  • People & Team Management – Lead, motivate, develop a team through coaching, mentoring and career development, coordinate and distribute tasks, and ensure staff are trained in policies and procedures.
  • Off‑Campus Housing – Collaborate with Housing Services to ensure quality alternative housing options for NUS students.
  • Finance & Procurement – Plan and manage the section’s annual budget effectively and ensure all procurement activities comply with University Procurement Policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • University degree with at least 5 years of managerial experience in people management and administration.
  • Analytical, excellent process, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent data management and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong work ethics and integrity.
  • Strong leadership, organisation, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Commitment to customer service and a continuous quality improvement focus.
  • Demonstrate ability as a leader and team player (adaptable, cooperation, ‘can‑do’).
