Reports to: Head of Risk Asia Pacific

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Market Risk Manager to join our APAC team. This role is central to maintaining the robustness of clearing operations during Asia Pacific hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for EOD valuation process, lead risk incidents, engage with clients and regulators, and contribute to global and regional risk initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Valuation Oversight
  • Perform and sign off on end-of-day (EOD) valuations across FX, rates, credit, equities, and repo portfolios.
  • Investigate and explain material valuation movements and anomalies.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Discuss technical aspects of clearing and the clearing model with new and existing clients.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and risk simulations on behalf of clients and internal partners.
  • Liaise with regional regulators and other key partners to ensure transparency and compliance.
Operational Risk Management
  • Supervise and manage clearing house operations during APAC hours.
  • Lead incident management efforts, identifying practical and timely resolutions.
  • Increase operational resilience through continuous improvement of procedures and controls.
Project & Collaboration
  • Lead and contribute to APAC-specific risk projects.
  • Collaborate with the global clearing house risk team on cross-regional initiatives and strategic projects.
Risk Analysis
  • Analyse member and portfolio positions to identify emerging pockets of risk.
  • Work closely with global risk teams to ensure consistent risk standards and practices.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated ability in market risk, preferably within a clearing house, investment bank, or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives valuation across multiple asset classes.
  • Experience with risk systems, valuation models, and scenario analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated concepts to clients, regulators, and internal partners.
  • Proven track record in ability to manage operational incidents and drive improvements.
  • Familiarity with CCP risk frameworks and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and with global teams.
