Job description

The Senior Logistics Specialist serves as a key operational and analytical member of PerkinElmer’s Asia Logistics team, responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective flow of materials across the regional supply chain.

Logistics Operations
  • Manage end-to-end freight and distribution activities for inbound, outbound, and intercompany shipments across the Asia region.
  • Oversee coordination with global and regional 3PLs, freight forwarders, and couriers Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to manufacturing sites, customers, and distribution centers
  • Track and resolve logistics issues, including shipment delays, damage claims, or documentation discrepancies.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure all shipments comply with international trade, customs, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., Free Trade Zone,DG regulations, HS Code classification).
  • Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, airway bills, and K8/K1 forms.
  • Liaise with internal trade compliance and customs brokers to ensure proper declarations and audit readiness
Freight and Cost Management
  • Coordinate spot quotes and lane-based freight negotiations in collaboration with Logistics Procurement.
  • Monitor freight cost trends and contribute to quarterly freight spend reporting and budgeting.
  • Support freight bill validation and cost allocation in SAP and logistics dashboards.
Process & System Management
  • Execute SAP transactions for inbound/outbound flows (e.g., MIGO, MB1B, ZASO, ZVRPANGI).
  • Maintain accurate master data for shipping points, routes, and partners.
  • Support ongoing enhancements to Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and 3PL integrations.
  • Participate in system testing, SOP updates, and process harmonization projects.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
  • Drive logistics KPIs improvement (OTD, lead time, freight spend, shipment accuracy).
  • Support warehouse migration, stock transfer, and system cutover activities.
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen, 5S, and CAPA initiatives to strengthen process control and compliance.
  • Provide logistics support for new product launches, distribution expansions, and sustainability projects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of logistics experience within a regulated or manufacturing environment.
  • 2–5 years of experience in team leadership or 3PL management.
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding, import/export regulations, and DG/HazMat compliance.
  • Proficient in SAP and/or other ERP/WMS systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiar with ISO standards and local/international product handling regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics budgets, lead projects, and implement process improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially in cross-border operations.
  • Prior experience in managing warehouse transitions or new site start-ups.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations in Johor or Singapore–Malaysia cross-border flows.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with exposure to Lean/Six Sigma tools
