A leading offshore engineering company in Singapore is seeking a senior electrical engineer with a strong background in design and management for FPSO projects. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry and at least 5 years specifically in offshore installations. Responsibilities include overseeing instrumentation engineering activities and ensuring compliance with various standards. Hands-on experience in the EPCI phase is preferred. This position requires strong leadership skills and tools such as MATLAB and AutoCAD.
To develop Basis of Design and ensuring compliance with project design philosophies, standards, procedures, and specifications. Overseeing all instrumentation and telecom engineering activities, prepare for and participate in HAZID/HAZOP, review of 3-D model, manage/control technical queries, interface information, RFQ (Request for Quotation) package preparation, Technical and Commercial evaluations of Vendor’s quotations, etc. Compliance to offshore and marine electrical codes, standard like API MPMS, ISGOTT, IEEE, IEC, NEC, ATEX/IECEx, ISA, ISO, IMO, SOLAS, etc., including regulations, industry best design practices, Class Rules/Guidelines.
Functional safety management as per IEC 61511/61508: SIL determination, SIL Study, SRS development, verification/validation and proof test intervals. ICSS architecture, and coordinate integration with shipboard systems and topside packages.
To develop material requisitions, RFQs, technical evaluations (TBE), vendor data reviews, and manage FAT/iFAT/HAT/SAT/ commissioning. Review of shipyards and Vendors detailed drawings/technical packages, and resolving Client/Class review comments.
Collaborate with other team members specifically construction team members in resolving instrumentation and telecom design issues, interfacing with the Shipyard and Client as needed. Deputation in Shipyard in China will be required during the project construction phase.
Supervise the manufacturing, installation, and operation of various systems to ensure they meet specifications and codes. Plan and execute pre‑commissioning/commissioning; develop test procedures, punchlists, readiness reviews, and performance acceptance criteria.
Minimum 10 Years in electrical design and engineering work within the oil & gas industry especially for FPSO or floating installations. At least 5 years of this experience should be specifically in offshore oil &gas processing projects, including FPSO. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience should be in a senior or lead role, managing engineering teams or projects. Direct, hands‑on experience in the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) phase of at least one FPSO is preferred.
Strong background in Instrumentation Telecom, Control, ICSS, Cybersecurity, etc. are required.
Software experience in AVEVA Instrumentation/ MATLAB/ETAP/ Microsoft Office/AutoCAD are required.
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Instrumentation /Electrical Engineering
