Job summary

Job Description
  • Characterize new laser or optical systems and analyze test results statistically to validate design specifications, tolerance, reproducibility, reliability etc.
  • Able to set up laser or optical test system with other subsystem interfaces, e.g. mechanical, electrical, software and clean room facilities, for control and data acquisition.
  • Design, assemble, align tabletop optical components for system prototyping and validation.
  • Perform in-depth system analysis to determine optical solutions for product improvement or to mitigate technical risks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on integrated systems to identify systematic or intermittent issues.
  • Create operational method sheets and process related procedures, update/ release documentation and engineering change order, and able to structure BoM.
  • Work closely with vendors/ design engineers, manufacturing/ service team in work routine to close product gaps for manufacturability and serviceability.
  • Report test results, support field escalations and drive for engineering solutions across different functional teams for project deliverables.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a multi-discipline laser/optical system environment
  • Experience with solid state laser is preferred
  • Master/ PhD degree holder in physics, opto-electronics, opto-mechanical or related technical field.
  • Be able to work in a global, multi-cultural organization
  • Candidate with Zemax, CodeV optical software experience or having industrial exposure in laser engineering and optical lens assemblies design are highly preferable
  • Experience with Enovia process is an advantage
  • Self-driven to work effectively with diverse, cross functional teams in a highly dynamic environment with changing workloads and deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
