Job summary

UL Solutions in Singapore seeks an experienced laboratory technician to support daily operations, handle samples, test activities, and maintain equipment documentation.

You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory systems, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role also involves validation support, mentoring staff, and contributing to Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of laboratory operations or related technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing environments.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and supporting automated test systems.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make sound operational decisions.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Experience coaching or mentoring laboratory personnel.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement knowledge is preferred.
• Proficient with standard computer applications and laboratory systems.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations, including sample handling, testing activities, equipment management, and quality documentation.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment, automated systems, and test fixtures.
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements.
• Record, review, and maintain laboratory data and support documentation.
• Assist with laboratory planning, equipment procurement, and budget activities.
• Support validation of new or updated test methods and laboratory processes.
• Train and mentor laboratory personnel on equipment, systems, and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to improve laboratory efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with UL policies, safety standards, and security requirements.
