Job Description & Requirements
- Carry out accurate and timely laboratory tests and analysis.
- Support and assist the laboratory operations, and coordinate activities in the absence of the team leader/laboratory coordinator/chemist.
- Supervision and provide guidance to Laboratory Analyst
- Comply, support and assist in Quality control / Quality assurance and laboratory projects
Specific responsibilities:
- Carry out tests accurately in accordance to given standard methods.
- Represent the Laboratory as witness at third party and refinery laboratory.
- Standardize reagent/equipment, prepare titration solvent and test solutions when necessary.
- Upkeep the cleanliness of work areas, apparatus and equipments in the laboratory.
- Maintain and upkeep good housekeeping
- To check, review and follow lab protocol if dubious results are encountered.
- Must be able to work shift and overtime when required.
- Perform any tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform analysis at site laboratories or at field assignments.
- Mentoring newly joined/promoted Laboratory Analyst
- Assist in the practical training of new Analyst where assigned.
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
Requirements:
- Diploma in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum three years of relevant working experience in Oil, Gas & Chemical laboratory.
- Good knowledge of laboratory processes and safe handling of chemicals.
- Good knowledge and experience in handling Gas Chromatography and other scientific testing instruments.
- High attention to details, meticulous with good time management.
- Results and service-oriented altitude.
- Team player with a positive working attitude.
- Able to multi-task and work independently within challenging timelines.
