Job description

The Senior Lab Analyst in the QC laboratory in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards, plays a multifaceted role that encompasses precise chemical analysis, adherence to quality management systems, and active participation in production‑related activities. This position is designed to contribute to the laboratory's commitment to ISO/IEC 17025 standards while also supporting production processes to meet organisational objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform daily analysis of internal and external samples including urgent analysis requirements to support plant products including IQC, IPQC & FQC samples, evaluation samples, and onsite plant UPW monitoring.

  • Involve in the chemical investigation process and troubleshooting for quality control, process control, and product development.

  • Develop analytical methods, system validation and correlations engaging ICP‑MS, ICP‑OES, GCFID, GCMS, IC and Wet chemistry.

  • Routine calibration/standard preparation, analytical instrument tuning & performance monitoring, perform maintenance/troubleshooting when necessary and keep track on the parts/consumables.

  • Data key in LIMS, make calculations and interpret test results to determine if process changes are needed.

  • Keep accurate and up‑to‑date records of all calibrations and maintenance.

  • Responsible for internal ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SS651 and ISO17025 audits and technical representative for ISO17025 external audits.

  • Accountable for training and mentoring of Lab Analysts, fostering skill enhancement and professional development.

  • Accountable for root cause(s) investigation and on time CAPA closure for laboratory equipment failure and result abnormalities.

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Management of Change (MOC) policy for all the changes.

  • Responsible for improving safety culture through strong participation and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, procedures, and protocols.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the QC Manager.

Experience, Qualification and other information
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry and relevant discipline

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in chemical/analytical laboratory

  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience in method development using ICP‑MS/OES, GC, TOC and IC

  • Must have ability in developing SOPs for instrumental- and wet chemical analytical methods

  • Possess skills in creating COAs and experience in LIMS

Other Requirements
  • To supervise and train lab staff on ISO 17025 compliance

  • Must be able to differentiate colours for work purposes

  • Will be required to work in the vicinity of chemicals and wear various PPE like chemical‑clothing, gowns and respiratory masks.

  • Will be required to work shifts
