Job summary

NETS is seeking an experienced Java backend developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems for high-volume transaction processing and international payment gateway integrations.

The role emphasizes secure, high-performance APIs, event-driven architectures, and production-grade reliability. You will collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and contribute to system architecture for resilience and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/SE or related field.
• 6–9 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Proficiency in Java 8+ (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs.
• Hands-on with messaging systems (Solace preferred).
• Strong MySQL skills: tuning, indexing, query optimization.
• Experience with unit testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Proficiency with Maven, Git, Jira, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for high-volume processing.
• Build secure, high-performance APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Write clean, testable code following engineering best practices.
• Contribute to architecture design for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Implement event-driven processing and asynchronous backend components.
• Support integration across multiple internal and external platforms.
• Design and implement message-driven architectures using enterprise messaging systems.
• Optimize application, database, and service-level performance.
• Perform load testing and identify system bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Ensure stability and reliability in high-throughput environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps to support CI/CD pipelines and release processes across environments.
