Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Engineer to serve as a technical authority within its internal IAM team. You will drive architecture and execution of the identity fabric, championing a Customer Zero approach by deploying new features internally before global release.

You will mentor engineers, shape IAM designs, and enforce standards across the organization while extending governance for security and compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of enterprise IAM design & maintenance experience.
• Deep expertise in Okta environments including Okta Identity Engine, workflows, and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0 and phishing-resistant MFA.
• Experience defining identity controls as code using Terraform; multi-cloud IAM guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Drive Customer Zero execution by adopting internal capabilities before public release.
• Own lifecycle, policy design, MFA and federation for enterprise tenants.
• Mentor engineers; review IAM designs and set engineering standards.
• Drive automation-first initiatives to meet audit requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP).
• Collaborate with security, audit and compliance teams to ensure controls meet standards.
