We are hiring an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in VMware Horizon and vSphere infrastructure to join our team to support a large-scale, mission-critical environment within an investment banking setting.
The successful candidate will manage virtual desktop environments, optimize system performance, automate key operations using PowerShell, and collaborate across global teams to ensure seamless infrastructure performance and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain VMware Horizon and vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and VDI components.
- Manage VDI provisioning, desktop pools, golden images, and linked or instant clones.
- Troubleshoot VDI performance, connectivity, and user experience issues across multiple regions.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting, and system administration efficiency.
- Conduct capacity planning, system health monitoring, and proactive issue resolution using vROps or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with network, Active Directory, and storage teams to ensure seamless integration across platforms.
- Apply ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning for virtual infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, operational procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 -12 years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure support, or EUC/VDI administration.
- Proven experience working in a banking or financial services environment, supporting large-scale, high-availability systems.
- In-depth hands-on experience with VMware Horizon, vSphere, and ESXi environments.
- Strong understanding of VDI components such as connection servers, desktop pools, golden images, and linked clones.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile management in a VDI context.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and storage technologies (SAN, NAS).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as VMware vROps, SCOM, or similar.
- Solid grasp of ITIL frameworks (incident, problem, and change management).
- Strong communication, analytical, and cross-team collaboration skills.
