About the Role

The Senior Industrial Designer will lead the concept-to-production design process, translating user insights, market trends, and brand direction into innovative, manufacturable products. This role requires a strong balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and practical problem-solving, with a focus on ergonomics, materials, and production feasibility. In this role, you will push the frontiers of innovation, engineering and sustainability and ignite ideas to everyday challenges. By seamlessly integrating form and function, you will create designs that redefine breastfeeding experiences and improve the lives of mothers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end product design, from concept to production-ready solutions.
  • Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of creativity and design excellence.
  • Explore and define new materials, processes as well as finishes to enhance product performance, quality, and sustainability.
  • Ensure timely delivery of designs while maintaining integrity and attention to detail.
  • Conduct user interviews with new parents undergoing various challenges as a young or new parent
  • Interpret data by creating inferences and insights from qualitative and quantitative research
  • Conduct testing, learn, research on usability of new and existing product design
  • Translate established ideas and new designs into project artefacts, such as sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and models
  • Effectively communicate product design data, design proposals, product specifications and negotiate options
  • Ensure designs meet Hegen’s high standards of safety, quality, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective and scalable.
Requirements
  • Master’s and / or Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design and / or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of industrial design experience, preferably in consumer goods, FMCG, healthcare or mother and baby products
  • Proficient with parametric and surface modelling techniques with 3D Design Tools (Solidworks / Fusion 360 / Rhino)
  • Proficient in generating rapid product design ideas with 2D and 3D design software.
  • Competent with materials and knowledge in mass production plastic and silicone material.
  • Hands-on and possess extensive hands-on experience in using prototyping equipment (3D printers & CNC laser machines) to fabricate and test ideas.
  • Ability to present design ideas through visual storytelling techniques (Keyshot and After Effects a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented, creative and passionate about designing products that enhance everyday experiences.
