Job summary

Harmattan AI seeks a senior hardware engineer to own electronics design end-to-end for field-deployable drone launchers. You will drive production milestones with a focus on robust power, mixed-signal boards, and manufacturability.

The ideal candidate has designed and shipped complex PCBs with high-power stages, strong schematics/layout discipline, and experience in outdoor environments. Autonomy, hardware/firmware bridging, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Designed and shipped complex PCBs with power stages and interfaces.
• Experience with thermal management and outdoor deployment considerations.
• Knowledge of cost and manufacturability considerations in mass production.

Responsibilities

• Schematic Design - complete schematics for mixed-signal and power boards.
• PCB Layout & Routing - board placement with signal integrity and EMC focus.
• Power & Thermal Architecture - define power and thermal strategy, including battery temp management.
• Environmental Robustness - ensure electronics withstand outdoor deployment conditions.
• Component Selection & BOM Optimization - select cost-effective, reliable parts; drive BOM reductions.
• Hardware Bring-up & Debug - lead bring-up, debug with test equipment; write bring-up scripts as needed.
• EMC & Safety Compliance - address EMC challenges and electrical safety for power/battery sections.
• Collaboration with Embedded SW - define hardware/software interfaces and support firmware bring-up.
• Collaboration with Mechanical - ensure PCB integration into enclosures.
