Job summary

Harmattan AI seeks a senior hardware engineer in Singapore to own electronics design end-to-end for rugged RF/mixed-signal boards. You will design, bring up, and validate boards, collaborating with embedded software and mechanical teams to ensure production readiness.

Ideal candidates have experience shipping complex PCBs, expertise in RF and mixed-signal design, and a strong focus on cost, manufacturability, and DFM/DFA. This role is onsite at Harmattan AI’s Singapore operations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing complex PCBs with attention to cost and manufacturability.
• Able to bridge hardware and firmware autonomously in small teams.
• Strong schematics, layout, bring-up and cost-awareness.

Responsibilities

• Schematic Design – design complete schematics for mixed-signal and RF boards, from power to digital and RF sections.
• PCB Layout & Routing – lead board placement and routing with SI, EMC, RF constraints (6–8 layers, controlled impedance).
• Component Selection & BOM Optimisation – select cost-effective components; drive BOM cost reductions for mass production.
• Hardware Bring-up & Debug – lead board bring-up with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers; write bring-up scripts as needed.
• EMC & RF Compliance – address EMC challenges; ensure RF performance and impedance matching.
• Collaboration with Embedded SW – define hardware/software interfaces; support firmware bring-up.
• Collaboration with Mechanical – ensure PCB integration into enclosures (connectors, mounting, thermal, shielding).
• Supplier & Manufacturing Ramp-up – qualify PCB manufacturers/assembly; support DFM/DFA; manage NPI transitions.
• Documentation – maintain schematics, layouts, test procedures, hardware specs.
