Job summary

Mastercard Foundry R&D in Singapore seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Generative AI) to advance backend services and scalable AI-driven features. You will build and maintain APIs, integrate AI models, and work with data scientists in an agile environment.

The role emphasizes robust testing, observability, and collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams, with mentorship of junior engineers and a focus on clean, maintainable code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.
• 5+ years of backend experience in building scalable APIs.
• Experience with Java (Spring Boot) or Python (Django/FastAPI).
• Hands-on AI/ML integration and productionising ML models.
• RESTful API design, data modelling, and SQL/NoSQL experience.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with testing, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and effective English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and scalable APIs for AI features (Java Spring Boot or Python).
• Integrate generative AI models with reliable service interfaces.
• Ensure performance via testing, profiling, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and ML engineers in an agile setup.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve tooling, CI practices, and documentation.
