Senior GenAI Engineer — Build Scalable AI Solutions

Job summary

Thoughtworks is seeking a passionate AI engineer to design and deliver complex GenAI solutions. You will work autonomously on challenging technical problems, mentor junior engineers and champion engineering best practices.

Due to client security clearance, Singapore Citizens or PRs are required. You will design, build and deploy GenAI applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve system performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python, CI/CD, testing, and version control.
• Ability to design AI-powered components or workflows with solid software design principles.
• Hands-on with at least one GenAI framework and one agentic framework.
• Experience building and optimizing RAG pipelines with vector databases.
• Familiar with deploying AI solutions on major clouds and using containers (Docker).
• Experience with LLMOps and observability tools in production.
• Exposure to ML/NLP frameworks such as PyTorch or Hugging Face Transformers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy GenAI applications using RAG, Agents, and Multi-Agent Systems from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and software engineers to deliver reliable, scalable systems.
• Own key features or components, ensuring they are well-structured, efficient and maintainable.
• Make technical decisions and contribute to system design with attention to performance, cost and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to turn business needs into practical solutions.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to grow their technical skills.
• Review code and provide clear, constructive feedback to peers.
• Understand deployment options and trade offs across cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understand optimization techniques to improve GenAI accuracy, performance and cost.
