Job description
What the role is:

As a member of our Biology Division team, you will play a critical role in research & development (R&D) in the area of forensic biology, and casework analyses and reporting.

What you will be working on:
  • Perform literature review and design experimental plan
  • Conduct workflow improvement, research and validation
  • Conduct and supervise DNA analysis of crime samples.
  • Interpretation and statistical analysis of forensic DNA results.
  • Preparation and review of reports, and provision of expert Court testimony.
  • Participate in QA/QC activities.
  • Assist the Laboratory Director in general laboratory administrative matters and technical staff training.
What we are looking for:
  • Background in Life Sciences with Mendelian Genetics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology
  • Sound life sciences knowledge with proven expertise in molecular biology/genetics as evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Preferably have experience in programming (e VBA, python, R, SQL) and/or statistical software (e R Studio, SPSS, SAS) in life sciences setting.
  • Familiarity with population genetics or metagenomics on MPS will be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with initiative and able to work independently.
