Job summary

HTX invites applications for a Senior Crime Scene Specialist to join the Forensics Division within the Singapore Police Force. You will perform crime scene investigations, document findings, and ensure chain of custody for critical evidence across scenes and incidents.

Role requires strong observational skills, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure with flexible shifts. Training is provided; candidates with non-forensic backgrounds may apply, including those with related homeland

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Life Science, Chemistry, Biology and/or related disciplines.
• Experience in homeland security, law enforcement, and/or military may be considered.
• Photography, videography, digital animation, and/or related multi‑media fields will be an advantage.
• Excellent observational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
• Eagerness to learn and collaborate as a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work flexible shift hours and irregular hours.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
• A valid Class 3 driving license will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough forensic processing and documentation of scenes of crime/traffic accidents, adhering to statutes and protocols.
• Examine and recover physical evidence with meticulous field documentation and chain of custody.
• Document and preserve forensic evidence for investigations and court proceedings.
• Adhere to established protocols and training for forensics procedures.
• Maintain readiness for shift duties and 24/7 standby availability.
• Provide support to forensics operations, including court attendance.
• Plan and deploy resources to ensure actions comply with legal and scientific requirements.
• Handle unpleasant sights and smells to support victim identification when needed.
• Undertake additional administrative duties or development projects; monitor emerging forensics tech.
