Position Summary
The Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM) will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of fire safety management within the organization, ensuring compliance with local and international fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices. The role involves strategic planning, risk assessment, training, and emergency response management to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s fire safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Conduct regular fire risk assessments, audits, and inspections across all facilities.
- Lead fire safety training programs, including CERT training, fire warden programs, and fire extinguisher usage.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fire drills and tabletop exercises to ensure emergency preparedness.
- Monitor the maintenance and certification of fire safety equipment and systems.
- Review and update the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) regularly to align with regulatory requirements.
- Manage fire safety-related vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual fire safety reports, highlighting compliance and risk areas.
- Stay up-to-date with local fire safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in fire safety management, preferably in large-scale industrial, engineering, or corporate environments.
- Strong knowledge of local fire safety codes, regulations, and international standards.
- Proven experience in conducting fire risk assessments, audits, and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification in Fire Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, Fire Warden, CERT) is highly desirable.
