About the role
Responsible for the financial operations and compliance management of the subsidiary. Ensures the financial health of the subsidiary, supports business decision-making, and establishes efficient financial systems to support the company's rapid growth in the Southeast Asia region.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Business Partnering:
- Provide professional analysis, modeling, and decision support from a financial perspective based on the subsidiary's business strategy.
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, and monitor their execution.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide insightful financial reports and recommendations to management.
- Financial Operations & Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the subsidiary, including but not limited to General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR)/Accounts Payable (AP), cash management, taxation, and payroll accounting.
- Establish and improve local financial processes and internal control systems to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage company cash flow, treasury planning, and foreign exchange risk to optimize capital utilization.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure all financial activities of the subsidiary comply with Singapore laws and regulations, accounting standards (Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, SFRS), and corporate policies.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports in a timely manner.
- Act as the primary point of contact, coordinating and leading the annual audit, tax audits, and other statutory filings (e.g., GST filing).
- Ensure the compliance and optimization of all tax matters, including Corporate Income Tax and GST.
- Team Management & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Manage the local finance team and report to the headquarters finance function.
- Work closely with the headquarters finance team to ensure the effective implementation and execution of group finance policies within the subsidiary.
- Maintain close communication with business departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Operations) to provide strong financial support.
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Hold the Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore) qualification or an equivalent international credential (such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.).
- Have at least 8 years of work experience in finance, including at least 3 years of experience independently managing the full finance operations of a subsidiary or business unit.
- Proficient in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), company law, and tax regulations, with extensive experience handling GST and related tax matters.
- Demonstrate excellent financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting skills, and be proficient in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Outstanding leadership, team management skills, and the ability to solve complex problems.
- The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the Southeast Asian market and a proven track record in supporting regional business expansion.
