Job summary

A global technology provider in Singapore is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform routine maintenance and customer installations. The role requires at least 2 years of experience in telecommunications and a degree in electronics. Candidates must possess troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working in data centers, including lifting heavy items and adapting to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in telecommunications field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on Data Centers and Points of Presence.
  • Attend to customer premises for installation/configuration/troubleshooting.
  • Manage warehouse inventory and ensure safety levels of equipment.

we are looking for a potential candidate Field Service Technician to join our Asia Pacific Field Operations family.

Responsibilites
  • perform routine maintenance on all in‑country Data Centers and Points of Presence, ensure site infrastructure is compliance to company standard and labeling. update site documentation from time‑to‑time.
  • attend to customer premise to carry out CPE installation/configuration/trouble shooting.
  • manage the warehouse inventory ensure Network and Cpe sparing is at the safety level in order to support new order fulfillment and break‑fix. handling Cpe delivery to customer location ensure meeting the required sla.
  • demonstrate ability to complete the assigned work order independently and document the result properly.
  • demonstrate ability to manage/supervise remote contractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with acceptable standards and practices.
  • work closely with project management, service delivery team, activation team, Noc, network implementation team on work order, scheduled maintenance and trouble ticket.
  • you will be in many events working in data centre or warehouse alone, on various occasions require to lift heavy item unassisted.
  • must be able to work after office hour, evenings, weekends, and holidays in an on‑call/emergency basis.
  • must be able to travel overnight within and outside of regular work area upon request of supervisor or manager.
  • must be able to adapt and perform in a rapidly changing work environment.
  • be smart and agile enough to bend, stoop, and crawl and work in a Data Centre environment for extended period of time.
  • perform additional duties if required.
Qualifications
  • preferred a minimum of 2‑year experiences in telecommunications industry in field operations support.
  • degree in electronics or equivalent.
  • candidate currently holding an active Ccna, Ccnp, jncP and/or Ciena Oca is a definite advantage.
  • basic knowledge in computer operating system, windows and Linux.
  • basic knowledge of network technologies i.e. dwdm, oatn, sdh/pdh multiplexing, ethernet, tcp/ip, sdwan.
  • basic knowledge in vendor operating system i.e. versa os, cisco ios and junos.
  • experience in operate test instrument and setup various test requirement, i.e. otdr, bert, etherbert, rfc2544, y.1564 and rfc6349.
  • understand the use of different tools/kits to effectively identify the fault over the core network infrastructure such as optical power meter, fiber microscope, light emitter, digital multi‑meter, testset.
  • understand various interface type over fiber optic cable and copper wire cable and their limitation.
  • a ble to interpret what is network alarm. e.g. ais, lof, los.
  • ability to resolve complex network issues and outages. understand troubleshooting fault finding techniques in a systematic way, i.e. software loopback, hardware loopback, inside‑out and outside‑in technique.
