Job description
Overview

The incumbent provides support and ensures the day-to-day smooth operations of the Research Office. Working with management, the role liaises with various stakeholders/agencies to support the research activities in Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) and participates in implementing SingHealth / NMRC / MOH research policies. The role provides support for research projects focusing on Clinical, Nursing and Allied Health research initiatives in SKH and oversees the improvement and implementation of research administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant and Contract Management
    • Assist staff in identifying funding opportunities.
    • Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of grant proposals.
    • Review and negotiate research contracts and agreements.
    • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
    • Liaise with finance departments to ensure accurate billing and fund disbursement.
  • Compliance and Ethics
    • Review and coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) and ethics committee submissions.
    • Maintain records for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Administrative Support
    • Organize research-related meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
    • Provide guidance to staff on research policies and procedures.
  • Others
    • Foster a collaborative and compliant research environment.
    • Develop and implement process improvements for research administration.
    • Any related duties as assigned by Research Director.
Education, Training and Experience

Education / Qualifications

Preferably a degree in Life Sciences or Allied Health with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience.

  • The candidate must be mature, able to think critically, and be sensitive to cross-cultural values and trustworthiness.

Relevant Experience & Skills / Specialisation

Prior experience in research administration would be an advantage.

Proficient in English language and possess good writing skills.

Proficient in MS Office applications.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently at a high level is desired.
