A leading research and analysis firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced analyst to cover Japanese banks and trading houses. The successful candidate will perform fundamental analysis, write research reports, and pitch investment ideas internally and externally. Strong communication skills in English, independence, and a passion for investing are essential. A minimum of 10 years of experience in an equity analyst position is required. Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, funds, markets, and portfolios. The Research group also provides data on hundreds of thousands of investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles, along with real-time global market data on millions of equities, indexes, futures, options, commodities, and precious metals, in addition to foreign exchange and Treasury markets. Morningstar is one of the largest independent sources of fund, equity, and credit data and research in the world, and our advocacy for investors’ interests is the foundation of our company.
Our equities research group requires an experienced analyst to cover regional banks and Japan’s trading houses. The priority stock coverage includes Mitsubishi UFJ and Itochu, for example. Performing fundamental analysis within our well-defined research framework, the role holder will write research reports and determine fair values on a select group of stocks. They will also be accountable for pitching investment ideas internally and externally in accordance with Morningstar’s investment methodology. This position is based in our Singapore office. In addition, the person should be able to work independently and have had some prior management experience so as to be comfortable supervising or mentoring other analysts.
