Job summary

OKX is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and operate high-availability distributed services powering core trading flows in Singapore. You will own reliability end-to-end, tune performance, monitor systems, and respond to incidents.

Collaboration with Product, Design, and Marketing will drive innovation and scalable designs. The role requires hands-on Java/SpringBoot/SpringCloud, microservices experience, and familiarity with Kafka and cloud Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a technical field.
• Hands-on experience with Java–Spring frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-availability, low-latency distributed services powering core trading flows.
• Own service reliability end-to-end: architecture, tuning, monitoring, incident response.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to translate trading requirements into scalable designs.
• Mentor peers and drive best practices through reviews.
• Contribute to Kafka-based messaging and event-driven system design at scale.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing to drive innovation and execution.
• Design and implement high-availability distributed services and ensure performance.
• Contribute to tech standards and code reviews for peers.

About the Team

Trading Services Engineering team powers OKX's core trading infrastructure — the systems that keep millions of users trading reliably, 24/7, at global scale. You'll build the backbone that other engineering teams depend on.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build high-availability, low-latency distributed services that power core trading flows
• Own service reliability end-to-end: architecture, performance tuning, monitoring, and incident response
• Partner with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to translate trading requirements into scalable system design
• Drive technical best practices through code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of peers
• Contribute to Kafka-based messaging architecture and event-driven system design at scale

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Marketing to drive innovation and execution
• Design and implement high availability, high-performance distributed services
• Contribute to technology best practices and perform code reviews for peers

What We Look For In You

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
• Demonstrated experience adopting AI tools in the engineering workflow, able to evaluate and integrate AI capabilities into day-to-day development
• Hands-on experience in Microservice/API development using Java/SpringBoot/SpringCloud
• Strong knowledge of multi-threading and distributed architecture, and understanding of messaging frameworks such as Kafka
• Proficient in relational database design and development
• Comfortable working in a cloud-based Linux environment
• Proven experience in automated testing and continuous integration
• Knowledge of integrating with 3rd party software via APIs/SDKs
