Job summary

ResMed (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (MY) is seeking a senior Moulding Engineer in Singapore to drive LSR moulding processes, equipment, facilities and documentation to meet high-volume production needs. You will lead projects, mentor juniors and collaborate across Production, Quality and other teams to reduce scrap and cycle times.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, risk analysis and a strong hands-on approach in a fast-paced medical manufacturing environment with focus on OEE improvement

Qualifications

• 5 to 10+ years of injection moulding experience.
• Strong hands-on LSR moulding experience.
• Experience in medical, automotive, or consumer product manufacturing.
• High-volume automated manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain & improve LSR moulding processes, equipment and documentation.
• Lead cross-functional projects and mentor juniors.
• Reduce scrap, cycle time and manufacturing cost.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Investigate defects and customer complaints.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, SQE, PD, PLE, GSA and Marketing teams.
• Work independently in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Job description

The primary role of Mounding Engineering function is to apply advance skills and knowledge of mounding engineering in process, equipment, facilities and documents, in order to meet the current and future production volume, quality, OH&S and cost requirements. Key deliverables include conducting process validation, scrap reduction and cost saving initiatives.

• To implement, maintain & improve Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Moulding Manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documentation to meet moulding production volumes and at all times follow OH&S guidelines.
• Possess Global mindset and ability to work with other geographical sites
• Lead & manage multiple Projects, Influence and Collaborate with other teams
• Lead, mentor or train junior engineers and technicians
• Develop robust moulding processes.
• Support mould trials and qualification.
• Reduce cycle time, Reduce Moulding Scrap and Manufacturing cost.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Investigate moulding defects and customer complaints.
• Work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, SQE, PD, PLE, GSA and Marketing teams
• Able to work independently without guidance in fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Decision making based on data-driven and risk analysis
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Polymer Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering

Experience:

• 5 to 10+ years of injection moulding experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in:
  • LSR moulding
  • Multi-cavity mould processing
  • Medical, automotive, or consumer product manufacturing
  • High-volume automated manufacturing environments

Technical Skills:

• LSR material handling
• LSR moulding machine and dosing unit operation
• LSR Process optimization, Defects troubleshooting and Scrap reduction
• Mold Qualification and Accepance
• Tool Design Review
• Problem-Solving skills (such as DMAIC, Cause & Effect, 5 Whys)
• Automation and Robotic integration
• Able to read and interpret Mechanical Drawing
• Able to read and interpret GD&T ASME Y14.5-2018

Quality and Regulatory Knowledge:

• Statistical Process Control (Cpk, SPC)
• Hypothesis Test and Design of Experience
• PFMEA and Control Plans
• DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ process validation
• ISO 13485 (medical devices)
• Safety standards (ISO, OSHA)
• GMP requirements (for medical manufacturing)
